Link My Books vs Taxomate: the direct answer

Both tools post payout summaries from marketplaces into your ledger, and Taxomate lists the lower price at every order tier the two share. As read on 3 October 2026, Taxomate's Starter plan is $14 a month on monthly billing for up to 200 orders, or $12 a month billed annually at $144 a year. Link My Books charges $24 a month for the same 200 orders on one channel, and its lowest tier is $20 a month for up to 15 orders.

Price is not the only difference. The two support different ledgers and channels, and they include different amounts of history.

Taxomate is lower in every row, for one channel and for two. The gap widens with channel count, because Taxomate's Multi-channel plan has no channel cap while Link My Books moves you to Pro at three channels and Premium at six. At 5,000 orders, five channels cost $90 on Link My Books Pro against $58 on Taxomate. Taxomate's annual billing lowers its figures again: $12, $20, $37, $66 and $116 a month for Starter at the same tiers.

Link My Books has finer steps below 200 orders (15, 50 and 100), but its lowest price of $20 is still above Taxomate's $14. Use the cost worksheet to price your own volume.

What each one does that the other does not

  • Taxomate only: Wave as a ledger, although not for Shopify; an annual billing option that it says saves 17%; and a QuickBooks Inventory Sync plan that posts sales invoices to adjust inventory. Taxomate describes that plan as still in beta and says it needs QuickBooks Online Plus or Advanced.
  • Listed by Link My Books and not on Taxomate's pricing page: Square as a sales channel; financial analytics with channel profit and loss and industry benchmarking; and product grouping for mixed tax rates.

Shopify gateways are a practical difference. Link My Books documents support for every Shopify payment gateway, with a clearing account created for each one. Taxomate's Shopify page says Shopify Payments is the clearest workflow and that external gateways should be tested separately.

Who should pick Link My Books and who should pick Taxomate

  • US seller on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart or Shopify Payments who wants the lowest list price: Taxomate.
  • Seller who keeps books in Wave: Taxomate, since Link My Books posts only to Xero and QuickBooks Online.
  • Seller who needs several years of back history: Taxomate includes history without a plan limit, as far as each channel allows.
  • Seller with Square, or a Shopify store that takes PayPal, Klarna and other gateways: Link My Books.
  • Seller who wants channel profit reports inside the connector: Link My Books.

Switching between Taxomate and Link My Books

Both tools post summaries, so a switch mainly means remapping accounts and avoiding double posting. Choose a cutover date, stop auto-posting in the old tool, and set the new tool to start from the first payout after that date. In Link My Books the auto-post setting takes an optional start date.

Do not delete what the old tool already posted unless you intend to repost it. The Link My Books rollback removes the entries it created in your ledger, and that applies to every settlement you roll back. Both vendors offer a 14-day trial, and Taxomate suggests posting one representative payout and matching it to the bank deposit before importing history. The trial checklist covers the same test for Link My Books.
