Keep the settlement intact as evidence
A single transfer can relate to activity on both sides of a calendar boundary. Your review note should retain the whole settlement identifier while showing how the accounting output represents each period. Do not discard the earlier portion because it did not produce a separate bank deposit.
Check the documented split behavior
Link My Books describes calendar-month splits and a carry-forward relationship between the earlier part and final payout. That is not a promise to split at any arbitrary migration date. If your cutover falls midmonth, a separate boundary decision is needed. Ask the reviewer to identify which entries belong before and after that boundary.
Work through a fictional case
Imagine activity from 28 September to 4 October with one payout after 4 October. Prepare a schedule with the full settlement, September portion, October portion and transfer. The two portions should be understood together before comparing either to the bank. The dates here illustrate the question; they do not prescribe revenue-recognition policy.
Acceptance checklist
Can the reviewer find both portions, connect them to the same settlement and explain the transfer without counting activity twice? Are the reporting settings and currency recorded? If an output is missing, record that as incomplete rather than creating a duplicate manual entry. Month-end treatment and corrections require the responsible accountant’s approval.
